Steve Gear
Steve Gear has over fifteen years experience of making films. He started his career as a youth worker and photographer. He has produced TV documentaries for HTV West and WTN and directed education and training films in Africa and China. Steve is an experienced project manager and a Creative Partnerships advisor.
Jeremy Routledge
Jeremy Routledge started out as a runner in TV facilities, trained as an editor and then cut films for Channel 4, BBC and ITV. After getting a break as a director with Maverick TV in 1991, he worked in TV for 5 years on shows like Video Diaries, Answering Back and The Great Escape. In 1998 he started to explore facilitated film making with Calling The Shots. Jeremy is also a BFI Associate Tutor.
David Thompson
David has eight years experience in film and TV production. He has worked on documentary, sports and lifestyle programmes for various broadcasters including BBC, Sky and ITV. David started out as a camera operator and over the past few years has focused on editing. David is now the head of post production at Calling The Shots.
Marina Traversari
Marina joined Calling The Shots in 2005. She was nominated for the 'Testimony' award for her documentary on miscarriages of justice, and has also worked for the BBC in Northern Ireland and Bristol Points West. Marina now works as an associate producer and is the production manager for BBC New Talent Shorts & Mini Masterpieces.
Alex Try
Alex joined Calling The Shots in July 2007 as production assistant. He has a wealth of experience from camera assistant on features, to production assistant in Sri Lanka. His key skills lie within production and post-production stages, where he is proficient in the processes from conception to delivery. A welcome addition to the team.
