Firstlight
Young filmmakers from Hartcliffe Primary Schools have produced three short films funded by First Light, the UK Film Council and the National Lottery.
They received a gala screening at the Hengrove Cineworld on Saturday 18 th November. We were privileged to be joined by Dawn Primarolo, MP for Bristol South and Paymaster General, who attended this special screening. Thanks to HWCP (Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership) and URBAN2 programme who supported the screening.
The films were produced by children, supported by Calling The Shots. Calling The Shots specialise in working alongside children and adults to enable them to turn their own ideas into professional standard films and programmes. Calling The Shots brought in a team of professionals to support each production, choosing the team to suit the needs of each production.
Pupils from Teyfant Primary School produced 'Don't Stop Playing ', 9 Minutes, drama;
"Transition from Primary schools to secondary schools have always been a time of concern and worry for children and their parents. It was a fantastic opportunity for all our year 6 last year to discuss and express their worse fears and their excitement through a creative media"...

Pupils from Fair Furlong School produced 'I Wish I...' ,6 minutes, drama and animation, assisted by professional animator, Kari Nygaard.
Pupils from Hareclive School's Room 13 project produced 'The Book' , 7 minutes, drama filmed by Louie Blystad-Collins.
