HearSay! Wins International Award

 

HearSay!, our Media Box-funded youth news project, has won an award at the prestigious Reel Teens Festival in New York.

 

 

The project, which sets out to give young people a chance at researching, writing and producing short news packages, won the Best News Magazine Award.

 

 

 

 

The three-month scheme gave six teams of young filmmakers from across the UK the chance to make 3-minute news reports about the issues that concern them.

 

 

Calling The Shots managed the project and worked with teenage mothers from the Meriton to make the film ‘Teenage Mothers, How the Media Spins It’.  The five other films were made by partner organisations from the community media sector.
