We can make you a film to inform your clients or staff about the work of your organisation or we can deliver training workshops to enable your staff or clients to make their own programmes, either as a team building exercise or as part of a consultation process.
We've made our name working with organisations within the charity, health and education sectors, but our services are growing in popularity with businesses keen to see their marketing products connect with real people.
Video Production
Calling The Shots have produced promotional and training films for clients including Bristol City Council, UK Arts Council, The Brandon Trust, People First and North Bristol Primary Care Trust.
These programmes range from public information films aimed at a popular audience and intended to increase public participation in local government to 'Turn Your Life Around', an introduction to care of the learning disabled for a Bristol-based charity.
Training Courses
With the advent of low-cost still and video digital cameras many organisations are seeing the value of equipping their staff with the skills to record high quality content for their corporate communications.
Calling The Shots have extensive experience of working with charities and corporate clients to enable their staff to get the best possible results with their equipment.
We trained staff from the international development charity Transform to improve their video recording skills when visiting projects in east and southern Africa.
We have also run workshops for teachers across Bristol, aimed at improving their photography and digital media skills, both as a tool for documentation and evaluation and to enable them to improve their delivery of photography skills in the classroom.
Steve Gear and Jeremy Routledge have 30 years combined experience in training and Jeremy is recognised as an Associate Tutor at the British Film Institute.
Team Building
Video production is a team activity requiring effective planning and cooperation as well as camera and editing skills.
Calling The Shots have run a number of workshops for corporate clients using video production as a teambuilding challenge.
We can custom design courses aimed at building team skills, fostering a group ethos or just for having fun!
In 2006 we delivered a training session for staff at South West Screen, the regional screen agency for the South West of England. This involved three teams of staff collaborating on the production of three short films, one documentary, one animation and one drama. Each film was planned, filmed, edited and distributed to mobile in just one afternoon.
